KISHTWAR, Sept 17: Minister for Forests, Ecology & Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh, along with Minister of State for Transport, Revenue, Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Sunil Sharma, visited Inshan and adjoining parts in Kishtwar Forest Division.
The Ministers, during the visit, planted saplings of Chinar as part of the ongoing efforts of promoting forest cover by encouraging maximum plantation drives in the State.
Later, the Ministers convened public grievances redressal camp at Inshan which was attended by the people from the adjoining villages including Sukhnaie.
The participants raised a number of issues related to welfare and development of their respective areas with emphasis on improvement of certain basic services in these far off and remote pockets.
The Minister assured the people that all their issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities for an early redressal.
Lal Singh assured the people that the Government is well abreast with all their problems and demands and is working hard to meet their aspirations in the shortest possible time. He sought people’s participation and cooperation in effective implementation of Government schemes meant for their socio-economic empowerment.
The Minister, while emphasizing the importance of protecting and preserving State’s green gold said that as forests, wildlife and clean environment are essential for human survival it is our prime responsibility to contribute on this account.
On the occasion, 20,000 cft of timber was distributed among the fire victims of Sukhnaie village free of cost.
