Lal Singh seeks daily evening duty roaster of HoDs

JAMMU, May 16: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Ch Lal Singh today directed Government Medical Colleges, District Hospitals, Sub-District Hospitals and Primary Health Centers for opening separate registration window for emergency patients so that they do not wait in queues for hours to collect registration slips.
The Minister   gave directions during his surprise visit to District Hospital Samba, here today.
During his visit to the hospital, Ch Lal Singh imposed fine of Rs. 6000 on the medicos and paramedics who were found without uniform and name plates. He asked them to maintain proper dress code during duty hours.
The Minister directed the HoDs of the different sections to submit evening round roasters as well as on call duty roasters of the consultants of their respective departments to the office of the Principal GMC for better patient care. He asked   the Post Graduates deployed in the causality wards of the hospital to work in coordination and under assistance of the Registrars on duty. He said the visiting consultants will mark their attendance during their evening round in the Register lying with the CMO of the concerned hospital.
The Minister also inspected 10-bedded Eye Hospital at District Hospital Samba. He asked the Medical Superintendent to provide patient-friendly treatment in the Government hospitals so that people avoid visiting private institutions.
Ch Lal Singh said at this time Government hospitals have latest technology equipments and adequate manpower. He asked the medical and paramedical staff members to put in their best efforts in providing possible healthcare treatment to the patients so that they could avoid their admission in private clinics.
Earlier, on the complaint received from one Sohan Lal F/o newly born baby R/o Paloura against Dr. Nisar Hussain S/o Nazir Hussain, Post Graduate student Pediatric Department, SMGS Hospital, Jammu alleging corruption for Hepatitis-B Immunoglobulolin injection, the Minister ordered immediate suspension and enquiry into the matter.
Meanwhile,  the Principal and Dean, Government Medical College, Jammu Dr. Ghanshyam Dev has suspended the doctor Nissar Hussain with immediate effect.
Dr. Dara Singh, Medical Superintendent, SMGS Hospital, Jammu was also asked to conduct the enquiry into the matter and submit report to the office of the Principal GMC within three days for further course of action.
