JAMMU, May 16: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, R S Jain today rejected the bail application of Mehraj Ahmed Bhat, who was arrested on November 17, 2014 along with 30 kilograms of poppy straw.
“In the present case, the accused was having in his possession of 30 kilograms of poppy straw. The NDPS Act was enacted to curb the ever increasing menace of drug peddling and illegal sale and its ramifications on the society”, the court said.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
