JAMMU, June 7: Minister for Health and Medical Education and ARI and Trainings Ch Lal Singh today laid foundation stone of 50-bedded new building of Mahatma Gandhi Mother Childcare (MGMC) Hospital at Kathua.
Ex-MLA Kanta Andotra, District Development Commissioner, Kathua Ajay Singh Jamwal, Director General ISM Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, Director Health Services Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania, Project Director AIDS Control Society, Dr Mohan Singh, Mission Director National Health Mission Dr. Yash Pal Sharma, Director Horticulture Anil Kumar Sharma, Deputy Controller Drug and Food Control Organization, Lotika Khajuria besides Chief Medical Officer, Kathua and Block Medical Officers accompanied the Minister.
Ch Lal Singh directed the Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) to gear up their men and machinery in completing the new hospital building of the Mahatma Gandhi Mother Childcare hospital at Kathua by July 2016, adding that for this purpose Government has released Rs. 10 crore for timely completion of the building.
The Minister informed that with the completion of the new building of the hospital, the 50-bedded full-fledged hospital would be shifted in the new hospital building with the facilities of emergency block, OPD block, Operation Theatre, dispensary-cum-store, new born care unit, X-ray, ECG, Ultrasound, Indoor, dressing, injection, mortuary, doctor room, nurses room, lab, waiting room, medical OPD room, immunization and counseling.
Ch Lal Singh further informed that the hospital would also ease the rush of patients in Government District Hospital Kathua. He said his aim is to upgrade other hospitals of Kathua city and its adjoining tehsil headquarters at par with Government Medical College with adequate staff, machinery and medicines so that that the patients could get healthcare treatment at their doorstep hospitals.
He said Government is committed to provide infrastructural-cum-best healthcare facilities to the people in every corner of the State. He said there is no constraint of funds under health and medical sectors.
Responding to the demand of Asha Workers, the Minister informed that under different courses in ANM and GNM schools, Government is keen to provide 25 percent share to them so that they could get training under health sector courses there. He asked them to avail benefits of such share.
Earlier, the Minister also visited Budhi village and dedicated Rs 2.06 crore Primary Health Centre to the people of the area.
Ch Lal Singh went round each section of the hospital which includes Laboratory Section, Dental Section, Drugs Store, Immunization and Family Welfare Section, Medical OPD, Ayush OPD, Gynae OPD, Labour Room, Emergency Ward, Dot Section, 8 bedded ward and residential quarters of the medicos and paramedics.
The Minister directed the medicos and paramedics to avail benefits of the residential accommodation so that their services could be utilized in emergency cases in odd hours. He directed them not to leave the hospital unless the reliever arrives. He also asked to maintain dress code and cleanliness in the hospital.
Later, the Minister conducted an public grievances redressal camp at Kathua and listened the development related problems of Pathria, Plasi, Khudaria, Parya, Pallchi, Poond, Channi Chaan Roodian, Seera, Rehani, Mahanpur, Padda Patti, Dhani Baghta, Hiranagar, Ghagwal and Kathua city people.
Most of the projected problems of the people were redressed on-the-spot and left out referred to the concerned department for early redressal.
