KATHUA, Sept 20: Excise team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Vikas Anand & Inspector Excise, Arun Kumar, SI Amit Sharma along with Excise staff raided the Kangdyal, Padyari & Jakhbar Dhambra areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
During the raid more than 850 kgs of lahan, 40 bottles of illicit liquor which is highly hazardous and injurious for health was recovered by the raiding team from State and later destroyed on the spot.
It may be recalled that the raids are being conducted under J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu Division.
The raid in Kathua villages was conducted on the directions of the Excise Commissioner, Mohd. Javed Khan and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Syed Muried Hussain Shah.
