JAMMU, Sept 6: Kranti Dal, Jammu and Kashmir, today demanded immediate revocation of Article 35A and complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the Union of India.
“Article 35A is unconstitutional and illegal. It has been extended to the State by the virtue of Presidential order and has not been passed by the Parliament, which is a necessary formality,” Pritam Sharma, Kranti Dal State president told reporters here today.
He said that only Kashmir leadership cannot decide the fate of whole J&K as the matter of the fact that they alone cannot impose will on two other regions– the Jammu and Ladakh.
Pritam alleged that Kashmiri leaders are misleading the masses on Article 35A. He said that for last 63 years the people of J&K particularly of Jammu region have been deprived of their fundamental rights by incorporating Article 35A.
Terming the Article 35A as unconstitutional, Pritam Sharma said that it not only deprived the daughters of J&K of their genuine rights but also the West Pak Refugees of their basic rights as citizens despite their successive generations living in the State.
He lamented that while the Kashmir centric parties has united to safeguard the Article 35A, the Jammu based political parties are shamelessly surrendering and has adopted silence on this sensitive issue.
He asked Jammu based political and non-political parties to form a united front that would reach out to people in all the three regions of the State–Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh– to educate them about the ill effects of Article 35A. He appealed to the Jammu based political parties and the people to stand as one against unconstitutional Article 35A.
