JAMMU, Aug 11: Maintaining that Kashmiri Pandits three decades -long struggle for a separate homeland within Valley has entered a decisive phase, Panun Kashmir, chairman , Dr Ajay Chrungoo today said an added responsibility has to be shared by community now.
Addressing a prominent citizens meet here, today organised by his organisation to take the stock of the situation after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A, he said community has to play vigilant and precise role in the changing circumstances.
Dr Chrungoo said“for Kashmiri Pandits the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A is epoch making event as it hits at the legal structure of Islamic State on the map of India”.
He cautioned the community of the elements who are acting as agents of subversives. He said the goal of homeland is the only solution to reverse and recognise the genocide of KPs.
P L Koul Badgami a senior KP leader said “there is only one solution to end KPs miseries and that is the carving out of separate homeland with UT status as enshrined in the Margdarshan resolution of 1991”.
Hira Lal Bhat a senior leader of Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch (JKVM) said “time and again it has been vindicated that KPs issue can be addressed only by creating Panun Kashmir within Valley”.
He said it is high time for Government of India to take a decision on the demand of over seven lakh Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to leave the Valley by Jehadis. “Carving out of separate homeland can only fulfill the geo-political aspirations of the community and reverse the genocide”, he added.
Dr Mahesh Kaul a scholar said the demand of separate homeland has entered a crucial phase. He said it has to be understood that constitutional safeguards and political empowerment of the community is possible only by carving out a separate homeland for the community within Valley.
