Mankotia organises 11th Marathon against drug menace

UDHAMPUR, Aug 11: Intensify Anti Drug Campaign at Udhampur, Chief Patron Dogra Kranti Dal NGO, former MLA and NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia today organised 11th Marathon Run in series against drug abuse which commenced from Dakkahdu Bridge at 6.30 am and concluded at Laddan, here.
Marathon was organised by NGO Dogra Kranti Dal, in which around 250 youth participated.
SHO Udhampur, Choudhary Vijay Singh, who was chief guest on the occasion flagged off the Run.
Showing deep concern over increasing drugs at Udhampur on such fast rate, Mankotia said that to make Udhampur drug free is their prime goal and they were working at ground level by organising such marathons and other allied sports activities.
Mankotia informed that during the previous days he has made door to door awareness campaign against drugs and also made huge rallies to eradicate such menace and take stern action against drug peddlers.
Later, Mankotia also felicitated first three winners with a cash prize.
The 1st prize was bagged by Ankit Kumar, who received a cash prize of Rs 3100, while 2nd prize went to Akshay Sharma with a a cash of Rs 2100 and the 3rd prize was claimed by Sahil Kumar with a cash prize of Rs 1100.
Rs 500 each was given to other participants who claimed spots up to 10th rank. They included Ajay, Rahul Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Ankit Sharma, Pawan Kumar, Rahul, Danish, Lakshay, Vishal Sharma and Sunil.
Yograj, Sham Ji, Sarpanch Bishan Dass, Prakash, Avtar, Gushi, Shamu, Flail Singh, Jodhu Ram, Ravindra, Sudesh, Kuldeep, Uttam, Sony Rathore, Ram Lal, Nittu and Satpaul Singh were also present on the occasion.
