JAMMU, Jan 6: For his victory in the just concluded Assembly elections, the newly elected MLA from Kalakote, Abdul Gani Kohli was today felicitated at B.N College of Education, Sunjawan, here.
It was MLAs first visit to the College since his victory in the elections and hundreds of students and staff members were present on the occasion. Kohli was accompanied by BJP senior leader, Chander Mohan Sharma and other workers of the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Kohli thanked people, especially the voters of his Constituency for giving him mandate and said that he will work for the development of the Constituency.
He attributed his victory to the support of the people of Kalakote who believed in developmental agenda of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
Kohli assured the public that he will serve them wholeheartedly and will do his best to deliver his services to each and every person residing in the Constituency.
It is pertinent to mention here that it is for the first time in the political history of Jammu and Kashmir that a Muslim candidate has won the elections on the BJP ticket by triumphing over a Hindu contestant of the National Conference in the Kalakote Assembly seat of Rajouri district.
