Kohli convenes grievances redressal camp

POONCH, Dec 3: Minister for Sheep and Animal Husbandry, Abdul Ghani Kohli today said the Government is committed to holistic and inclusive development of J&K, adding that economic welfare of far-flung and backward areas figures among the Government’s top priorities. He asked the officers to reach-out to the people and mitigate their problems.
Addressing a grievances redressal camp at Dak Bungalow, Surankot, the Minister said efforts are afoot for establishing a healthy and transparent system where every citizen would get equal opportunity of progress and empowerment.
“Fast track, inclusive and balanced development of far flung and inaccessible pockets is our prime concern,” he said and added that that pro-people policies based on equitable development is the objective of the Coalition Government with main focus on upgrading basic amenities like roads, education, health, potable water and sanitation.
The Minister said efforts are also afoot for devising a comprehensive rural development strategy envisaging overall emancipation of the people in the remote areas.
Kohli said specific instructions have been issued by the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to the Government functionaries to pay special attention on the integrated development of remote areas that have not received desired attention in the past.
A deputation of Sheep and Wool Workers Association called on the Minister and raised their demands.
