KISHTWAR, Apr 26: In a firm action against drug-related offences, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Kishtwar Tasleem Wani has disqualified driving licenses of three NDPS Act accused, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to curb the drug menace in the district.
Acting under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma and based on recommendations received from SHO P/S Kishtwar Firdous Ahmed and SHO Warwan PSI Shafiq Ahmed, the ARTO initiated the disqualification proceedings.
The action follows FIR No. 91/2026 and FIR No. 92/2026 registered at Police Station Kishtwar under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. Accordingly, the driving licenses of Shakir Hussain S/o Ghulam Hussain, R/o Poohie Kishtwar (DL No JK17 20190002016) and Arjun Kumar S/o Kewal Krishan, R/o Sangrambata Kishtwar (DL No JK17 20220001638) were disqualified.
In a separate case, based on recommendations from SHO Police Station Warwan pertaining to FIR No. 01/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act, the driving license of Mohammad Younas Mir S/o Wali Mohammad Mir, R/o Marwah (DL No. JK17 20210001299) has also been disqualified by the ARTO.
