SRINAGAR, Apr 7: After 24 years, Police claimed today to have arrested the man who has been accused of killing the then Vice Chancellor Kashmir University, Professor Masheer-ul-Haq.
A police spokesman said police generated a specific intelligence regarding Hilal Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Nabi of Naid Doori, accused of killing Prof Musheer-ul-Haq and apprehended him in Zadibal area of Srinagar.
Sheikh was absconding since April 6, 1990, the spokesman said, adding he has been produced before the Court of CJM Srinagar for further legal disposal.
