UDHAMPUR, Dec 2: Police today recovered a minor girl of Basantgarh, who was allegedly kidnapped and raped by the accused.
Police also arrested the accused, identified as Liaquat Ali, son of Hameed, who has been booked under section 363/376 & 04 POCSO Act.
Based on the written complaint of father of the victim that his minor girl was missing, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Basantgarh and investigation started.
A police team, led by SHO Basantgarh, Sohan Singh, under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar, Dr Bhishm Dubey was constituted and raids were conducted in order to arrest the accused person. Based on reliable input, the minor kidnapped girl was recovered by the police team from Gandhtop area within 24 hrs of registration of case and she was safely brought back to PS Basantgarh where the victim, in her statement, stated that the accused person committed rape with her and fled from the spot.
The identification of the arrested accused was conducted in which the victim identified the culprit. Further investigation of the case is underway, Police said.
