RAMBAN, July 3: Police today recovered a minor girl, who was kidnapped from Dalwah-Sangaldan area of the district in the month of April.
Giving details, a police spokesman said that on May 9, 2012, a case was registered at Police Station Gool regarding the kidnapping of a minor girl namely Pinky (name changed) from Dalwah, Sangaldan area of district Ramban by one Mohd Salim, son of Abdul Rashid of Chalid, district Reasi.
Accordingly, a police team headed by Inspector Masoof Ahmed Mirza, SHO Police Station Gool was constituted under the close supervision of Anil Magotra, SP Ramban and Deepak Digra DySP (Ops) Gool. The team carried out searches at various places to trace out the girl and the kidnapper.
On July 1, their presence was located in Bari Brahamana area of Jammu and accordingly a police team headed by SI Mohd Afzal Wani, Incharge Police Post Sangaldan was deputed to Jammu. Finally, the girl was recovered and kidnapper arrested.
The minor girl was handed over to her parents after completing legal formalities and the accused Mohd Salim was arrested.
