JAMMU, Dec 27: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today inaugurated a job fair organized by Department of Employment in University of Jammu campus.
The Speaker, while hailing the move, remarked that holding such a mega job fair is a welcome step and more such events are needed to be held in future as well.
The Speaker, while lauding the efforts of district administration, said that events like this go a long way in educating the youth about employment avenues and secure their future.
Terming the job recruitment as a ray of hope for the unemployed youth of the State, he hoped that youth will get promising jobs in the companies participating in the event.
The Speaker urged that youth not depend on the Government jobs only and avail opportunities like these and explore alternative avenues in private sector.
He impressed upon the fact that private sector has great scope to absorb job seekers and solve the unemployment problem.

Later, he interacted with job providers to know about the offers they are providing.
The event was attended by Director Employment Department, G N Balwan, ADC Jammu, Arun Manhas, Deputy Director Employment Jammu, Rajeev Magotra and officers from Legislative Assembly.
According to the organizers, this employment event was an endeavor to provide employment to the educated lot of the State.
The job fair witnessed participation of hundreds of unemployed educated youth of the State. Around 15 companies including Peaks Auto, Aditya Birla Group, JK Yamaha and Big Bazaar offered jobs to the youth.
This employment opportunity was available for the youth possessing qualification ranging from MBA, Graduation, 12th, ITI and 10th.
