JAMMU, Dec 24: With a view to acquaint students of Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA) Jammu with new possibilities in art of Printmaking, Kala Kendra Jammu organised a National Level Printmaking in its premises.
In the camp experts from Lucknow, Rajasthan, and Chandigarh are invited to give live demonstrations to IMFA students and camp is being coordinated by well-known Painter Rohit Verma.
Sangeeta Gupta, Principal Commissioner, Income Tax, beside painter and poet inaugurated the camp as chief guest while Prof Poonam Chaudhary, Principal IMFA was the guest of honour. Apart from dignitaries the artists who lit the traditional lamp were Rakesh Sharma, Harsh Vardhan and Rohit Verma.
The participant artists are Rajan Fulari, Assistant Prof College of Arts and Crafts, Lucknow University (UP), Dr Mahesh Singh, Associate Prof Banasthali University Rajasthan, Preeti Sharma from College of Arts Chandigarh. Malti Sharma, Deva Sharma, Sonika Chalotra, Mehak Sharma, Pooja Devi, Kunzes Zangpo, Ranju Kumari and Nidhi Bhau are representing IMFA. Four day camp will concluded on December 27.
Speaking on the occasion, Sangeeta Gupta lauded the positive endeavour of Soujanya Sharma, Secretary Kala Kendra and Director Local Bodies to rejuvenate Kala Kendra with art activities in a short span of time and termed it as good beginning.
