JWAM holds protest

JAMMU, Sept 20: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) held protest here today against the amended Motor Vehicle Act.
JWAM activists, commuters, traders, transporters and prominent citizens assembled near Rehari Chungi and held protest. The protest was led by JWAM President Sunil Dimple.
While speaking, Dimple said that imposing heavy fines under amended Motor Vehicle (MV) Act is unjustified and Governor Satya Pal Malik should roll back the amended Act as soon as possible.
He added that Traffic Police Department is imposing heavy fines on commuters under amended MV Act, which is not acceptable.
He informed that the traders and transporters will intensify the protest from September 23, if amended MV Act is not revoked.
He appealed to all the political parties, transporters, traders, citizens, students, Government employees organizations to get ready for agitation against the wrong policies of the Central Government.
Among others present were Ashok Sharma, Babu Ram, Sanjeev Sharma, Sanjay Kumar, Mangal Singh, Happy Kumar, Dholat Ram, Sunny, Rajesh Sehgal, Sudhir Kumar, Dev Raj, Jetinder Gupta, Anil Gupta, Subash Chander Gupta, Ishar Das, Ashok Khanna, Rakesh Sharma, Ram Kumar Das, Mukesh Gupta, Vipan Gupta, Sham Lal, Thodu Ram and Babu Singh.
