JAMMU, Sept 5: A Sub-Judge has been trapped in his flooded residential quarters in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district and in order to save his life, Chief Justice of State High Court, Justice M M Kumar has directed the administration for his evacuation.
According to the reports, Sub-Judge Bijbehara Madan Lal and his staff heroically salvaged the court record at their own personal risk. However, the Judge himself has been trapped on the first floor of his residential quarter frantically waiting for his evacuation.
Chief Justice M M Kumar has taken serious view of the matter and asked the Registrar General of the High Court, Suresh Sharma to immediately take up the matter with the administration for immediate rescue of Sub-Judge Bijbehara. Accordingly, the Registrar General requested the administration to rescue Sub-Judge and provide required help to the officers, advocates and other stranded persons in Anantnag and Pulwama districts.
As per the reports, the courts, residential quarters, judges, staff and advocates have been worst affected in incessant rains, which have caused havoc in the State. Some courts in Anantnag and Pulwama districts, which have been worst hit in the Kashmir valley, have been badly inundated with flood waters. The ground floor in the court complex at Anantnag has been flooded severely. However, the valuable record of courts was salvaged due to valiant efforts of judges and staff, who carried the same to first floor to protect it from getting damaged.
Chief Justice has appreciated the courageous effort of Judges, staff and Advocates to save the valuable records of the courts.
