JAMMU, Apr 24: Special edition of Sheeraza Hindi by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Jammu, was released here today by the Jammu University Prof R D Sharma, during a function in this connection, organized in collaboration with PG Department of Hindi, JU.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof R D Sharma said that this is the great contribution to the language departments, which also helps to motivate the youth to the right direction and towards the creativity with positivity in their life. He also advised to continue this endeavour in future also.
Delivering his presidential address, Prof Nirmal Vinod complimented the 23 contributors of the said Sheeraza and the four short stories writers.
Earlier welcoming the gathering, Dr Parvinder Kour , HoD PG Deptt of Hindi, JU, expressed her gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir, Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages for involving the students/scholars of the University towards literary expects. She further said that the Academy will definitely achieve the goal for preparation of second line which is very mandatory in this changing life scenario.
Dr Aziz Hajni, Secretary of the Academy, said that the regularization of Sheeraza Dogri, Hindi and Punjabi is the real achievement which will reflect the seriousness of the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
Those who readout their short stories in the Sheeraza, include Dimpal Verma (Ummed), Rajni Kumari (Maine Clome Ko Bante Dekha Hai), Pooja Chib (Paagal) and Shivani Anand (Samay Ka Dao).
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL, presented vote of thanks. Dr Rattan Lal Basotra, Asst Editor in the Academy, conducting proceeding of the programme. All the students /scholars were given Certificate of Participation on the occasion.
