JTC, SKF warn to continue protest

JAMMU, Dec 10: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) ,Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) which is on protest for 434 days, today held a demonstration at Jagti township, Nagrota near here under the chairmanship of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita and urged the Government to settle the long pending demands of displaced people.
Addressing the protesters Pandita said that the Government has failed to solve the problems of Kashmiri Pandits. “We have been protesting for last 434 days for enhancement of monthly cash relief as the relief of Kashmiri migrant relief holders which is meager and they can’t make their both ends meet on this meager amount”, he added.
He demanded enhancement of relief from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month immediately. He warned to continue agitation till demands are met.
Highlighting the unemployment problem of the community,
Pandita said thousands of youth have become overage and Government has failed to address their problems. He urged the Government to announce a new package of 20,000 jobs for unemployed displaced youth.
He said 50,000 families are ready to return to Kashmir valley for which three satellite townships should be built near Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag besides the 32 years of loss in shape of crops and property be compensated to the community.
