JAMMU, Aug 19: Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Dr. Sanjeeb Patjoshi, chaired a meeting at Panchayat Bhawan here to review progress on various projects being implemented under 14th FC in the State.
Director Rural Development Jammu, Sudershan Kumar, briefed the meeting regarding implementation of different schemes being carried out by the Rural Development Department. He informed that the process of digitization has already been initiated in the State while the payments shall be started through PFMS soon. The funds received from the Center Government under 14th FC have already been disbursed among all the Panchayats of the Division through PFMS, however, the process of registration is underway.
Joint Secretary emphasized upon the concerned officers to expedite the process of digitization. He enquired about the progress of GPDP and stressed that the process for formulation of GPDP for the next financial year should be planned early so that works be taken up right from the beginning of the next financial year. He laid stress on full utilization of the funds under 14th FC which have been disbursed among the Panchayats besides timely submission of Utilization Certificates.
The Joint Secretary further emphasized on training and exposure visits of officers, PRI members and other officials of the Rural Development. In this regard, he informed that a dual set up of training programmers would be organized wherein the Master Trainers would be trained at different places for imparting further training to the officers and officials of the RDD.
Other pertinent issues discussed in the meeting were Geo-tagging of works under 14th FC and generation of Own Source Revenue (OSR) by the Panchayats for their empowerment.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioners (Dev) Jammu, Kathua, Reasi & Udhampur, Deputy Director (Planning), DPO (Publicity), DPO Jammu, besides Block Development Officers of Jammu & Samba Districts.
