JAMMU, Jan 8: Strongly deploring the insensitive and apathetic attitude of the State Government to the demand of selected wardens, Jammu State Morcha (JSM) has demanded the Government to immediately release the final selection list.
Criticizing the negligent attitude of the State Government, JSM president, Prof Virender Gupta said though the interviews for the posts of Jail Wardens in Prison Department were conducted in September 2010, yet even after the lapse of more than three years, the State Government did not issue the final selection list.
“These youth are sitting on Dharna for last about 40 days in front of the Exhibition Ground bearing the extreme cold and other difficulties, but this has not so far moved the Omar Government that makes heavy claims for providing employment to the unemployed youth”, he added.
Gupta questioned the Government for such a long delay in issuing the selection lists of the candidates despite the fact that there are about 2000 vacancies in the Prison Department, which is facing acute shortage of manpower and no recruitment was made in the department since 1995.
He asked the Government to immediately release the list of the selected candidates.
