SRINAGAR, June 20: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora and Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today released a book “Animal Husbandry Leh at Glance” at a function organized by the Chief Animal Husbandry Office, Leh here.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for Urban Development said that the magazine contains vital information, which will prove beneficial for those dealing with livestock. He asked the Animal Husbandry Department to make farmers aware about the latest techniques adopted by the department.
While addressing the gathering, the Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry said that need of the hour is to create awareness among the masses about the latest techniques and the schemes provided by the Government for the benefit of the live stock rearers. He asked the departments of animal and sheep husbandry to give wide publicity about the schemes and programmes of the departments through print and electronic media.
Mr. Gurezi said that the information contained in the book would be beneficial to the people related to animal husbandry especially in the Leh region and would give much needed information to them. He said that the need of the hour is to ensured more such material informs of books and other related material for the general convince of the farmers.
Among others, Executive Councillor, Animal Sheep Husbandry, LAHDC Gurmet Dorjay, Deputy Director, Agriculture Production Department Samoon, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Leh Abdul Qayoom and other officers of Animal Husbandry Department were present on the occasion.
