New Challengers, Kaccha Talab register big wins

JAMMU, June 20: New Challengers Cricket Club (NCCC) and Kaccha Talab Cricket Club (KTCC) registered huge victories over their rivals in the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup 2014, being sponsored by KC Motors Jammu at KC Public School ground adjacent to KC Sports Club, here.
New Challengers drubbed Krishna Cricket Club by a big margin of 63 runs in an easy contest.
Batting first, New Challengers scored a decent total of 175 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Parveen Singh played a magnificent innings of 77 runs, while Deepak Singh Manhas contributed handsome 31 runs to the total. For Krishna Club, Sumit took 2 wickets, while Sahil and Rawat claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Krishna Club managed to score 112 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs, thus lost the match by 63 runs. Ahtsham and Sanjay contributed 37 and 22 runs to the total respectively. For New Challengers, Ramdayal scalped 3 important wickets, while Sunit and Deepak Singh Manhas took 2 wickets and Monu claimed one. Parveen Singh was adjudged man of the match for his magnificent knock of 77 runs.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Rajinder Singh and Suhail Yousuf.
In another match, Kaccha Talab Cricket Club thrashed KC Motors  by a huge margin of 152 runs in a one-sided contest. Batting first, KTCC scored a mammoth total of 201 runs for the loss of one wicket in the stipulated 20 overs. Tony slammed a thunderous ton, scoring 101 runs, while Sourav contributed valuable 61 runs to the total. For KC Motors, Anil took the lone wicket to fall.
In reply, KC Motors bundled out for a paltry total of 49 runs in 9.3 overs. Anku and Amit chipped in with 16 and 14 runs respectively. For KTCC, Tony and Rohtak scalped 3 wickets each, while Mukesh and Sourav shared 2 wickets each. Tony was declared man of the match for his brilliant century. Westside coupons worth Rs 1000 each were presented to the man of the match awardees.
The match was officiated by Abhijyot Singh Bedi and Sandeep Manchanda as umpires, while Sohail Yousuf acted as the scorer.
