UDHAMPUR, Sept 4: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) was held here today under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma to highlight various demands and seek their resolution.
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma demanded the Inclusion of teachers appointed under ReT scheme in Transfer policy as they have been working in the same schools for last more than 20 years. He said that though these teachers appointed under ReT scheme were transferred under different Government orders and on the orders of competent authority but the department in July last issued order of repatriation and forced these teachers to go to CAT for justice.
“Even as the High Court has upheld the transfer order in 2018 and CAT has also endorsed the same by saying that stagnation of teachers minimizes their talent but still they are not considered for transfer, “ he said.
Vinod Sharma appealed the LG administration and Principal Secretary School Education Department to intervene in the matter and frame a comprehensive transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme and revoke the impugned order of repatriation for the welfare of thousands of teachers appointed under ReT scheme.
He also appealed the Government to resolve the issue of inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits by favouring the case in the court. Other demands raised in the meeting, included, rationalisation of teaching staff, sanction of posts of Masters in SSA upgraded Middle schools, DPC of Teachers and old pension scheme in favour of NPS employees.
He also appealed the Director school education Jammu to regularise the left out ReTs and convert the regularised RRETs to teachers Grade II/III so that they may get their salaries.
Meanwhile District Executive body of JKTJAC appealed Chief Education Officer Udhampur to intervene personally in the matter of Zone Ghordi where teachers including KGBV are allegedly harassed on one pretext or the other and their salaries have been withheld on petty issues.
