JAMMU, May 7: Urging the authorities to resolve the issue of lawyers agitation in order to avoid further hardships to the public especially litigants, JKPCC has also appealed to the Bar Association to co-operate with the three member committee constituted by the Government to sort out the matter.
In a statement, Ravinder Sharma-MLC and chief spokesperson JKPCC has said that the incident apparently reflects that the police officials exceeded the limits in dealing with the situation arising out of the violation of provisions of the Motor Vehicle laws. The police could have challaned or seized the vehicle and should have exercised restraint while dealing with a respectable citizen, more so when he was practicing lawyer, he said adding that in no case its action of alleged detention or thrashing the victim can be justified.
