JKP imparting self defence training to female students: Rajendra

SRINAGAR, Sept 7: In order to make the female students self confident and self defensive, Jammu and Kashmir police has decided to impart training to the students of Government and public educational institutions. The training would be imparted under the Civic Action Programme of the Organisation.
This was disclosed by the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed/Law & order, K Rajendra Kumar here today. He said that the training would be imparted by the well versed  female police officers and services of international Wushu player  Kuldeep Handoo and national Wushu player, Nissar Ahmed of JKP would also be utilized to acquaint the students with the skills of  unarmed combat (UAC).
The ADGP said that in the first instance 150 female students of Kity Hawk Public School Srinagar are attending  the course commenced today. Similarly students from other educational institutions including Boys Middle School Kareshibal, Girls Middle School Palapora, High School Baghi Dedmari, Girls Higher Secondary School Goripora and Rehmania Educational Institute Noorbagh would attend the training programme. He said that more than 1000 students of these educational institutions would be imparted training under the programme.
Mr Rajendra said that the programme is being organized with the aim to make female students self confident to face any challenge. Such programmes would continue to impart training to other students of different educational institutions and awareness about the importance of self defence among the students would be brought, he added.
