JAMMU, Jan 21: J&K National Trade Union Front (JKNTUF) will hold a massive protest rally on January 28 at Press Club to press the State Government to fulfill their long pending demands.
Disclosing this to the media persons during a press conference held here today, State president, JKNTUF, Mohammad Gafoor Dar, said that the State Government despite making commitments with the leadership of working class in the State on several occasions has failed to fulfill their long pending genuine demands.
The JKNTUF president said the State Government has failed even to sanction two 17% due DA installments at par with Centre Government employees, to State Government employees, who are facing severe problems due to high rocketing prices of essential commodities. He alleged that the Government is unnecessarily delaying fulfillment of genuine demands of the employees, adding the casual labourers and ICDS workers as well as helpers are suffering badly as they did not get their salaries and wages for quite a long time.
Dar said in this situation, JKNTUF representing State Government and public sector employees, need based casual labourers, left over daily wagers of various departments besides ICDS workers and helpers, could not remain silent spectator and hence the working committee of Front has decided to hold a massive protest rally at Press Club Jammu to force the Government to redress the genuine demands of the employees.
He appealed all the State Government employees, ICDS workers and helpers, need based casual labourers and left over daily wagers of all the departments to participate in the rally in large strength to press the Government to fulfill their genuine demands.
Other demands of the Front are framing of a regularization policy for need based casual labourers of all departments, issuing immediate regularization orders of left over daily rated workers under SRO 64 and release of pending wages of need based casual labourers of various departments including Anganwari workers and helpers.
