JAMMU, June 6: Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department of J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural organized 38 Financial Literacy & Awareness Programmes under RBI’s promoted Financial Literacy Week from June 3-7.
Four Regional Offices (RO) of the Bank-Jammu, Kathua-Samba, Rajouri-Poonch & Kupwara were involved in these camps.
Out of these 38 camps; RO Jammu conducted 11, RO Kathua-Samba 13, RO Rajouri-Poonch 8 & RO Kupwara 6, thereby, completing coverage of total 152 villages on the first three days of Financial Literacy Week.
Tejinder Singh, Panch one of the chief guests at the camp held at village Makhanpur Gujran under BP Simbal Morh spread awareness about various types of fraudulent activities prevalent in the market to dupe innocent people and urged the gathering to beware of such frauds.
Rashpal Choudhary, Branch Head (Simbal Morh) impressed upon the gathering to make best use of available schemes especially for rural sector like KCC crop loan, dairy loan, PMFBY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, insurance products etc in accordance to their need and requirement.
He also highlighted the benefits of digital banking and cashless economy.
Mohd Abdullah Dar, Sarpanch, another chief guest at the camp held at village Audoora under BO Kalamabad gave a detailed overview of various lending and deposit schemes of the Bank offered at lucrative interest rates.
Representatives of Line Departments like KVIB, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Education and NRLM also attended the programme besides the huge gathering of students and farmers of the villages.
