JKEEGA seeks audience with Principal Secy PDD

JAMMU, Aug 25: J&K Electrical Engineering Graduates’ Association (JKEEGA) has accused the Principal Secretary to Government, Power Development Department, for not sparing some time for a meeting with the association, which time and again approached the officer.
The association said that it is very unfortunate on the part of the administration which seems to be least concerned about the improvements to be made in the department and the problems faced by the engineers in the present scenario accordingly.
In a reminder letter submitted to Principal Secretary, the association said that instead of solving the genuine matter of engineering fraternity like non-regularization of engineers and maintaining senior lists, the administrative department is busy in making transfers/postings of engineers and that too prematurely without adhering to the standing Government’s transfer policy.
The association further said that Department is turning blind eyes towards officers posted/deputed to other departments even when posts are lying vacant in the PDD itself. “Now-a-days a new trend has been set up by the Administrative Department where officers are promoted on in charge basis but are not posted after the lapse of six months or even one year. If this is the scenario of planning from our top brass then what they can expect from their subordinates”, it added.
It further alleged that due to delayed decisions and scarcity of field staff, the power network system has deteriorated to such an extent that electrical accidents have become a routine matter and engineers are made scapegoats where they are kept at the mercy of the civil administration and general public.
The association urged the officer to spare some time for an early meeting so that various pending issues may be discussed and redressed as early as possible.
