JAMMU, Jan 24: Jammu and Kashmir Co-ordination Committee of Trade Union (JKCCTU) organized a seminar on the topic ‘Privatization Policies and impact on working class’ at Press Club, here today.
Trade Union leaders from J&K Government employees as well as Central and Public Sector institutions took part in the seminar and had a threadbare discussion on the topic.
The seminar was presided over by Md Maqbool (president, JKCCTU) and attended by prominent leaders like Susheel Sudan (EJAC), Babu Hussain Malik (EJAC R), GR Geelani (TUCC), Nirdosh Upal (AICCTU), Gurmeet Singh (JKCCTU), Dr Shashi Pal Singh (USTA), susan Singh (Northern Railways), Surinder Kumar, Arvinderpal Singh (JKNGREA), Mir Chand Rasool, Nazir Ahmad (JKPA) and Syed Ghulam Rasool Geelani (president, TUCC, J&K).
While initiating the discussion, Md Maqbool explained the present onslaught on Neo-liberal economic policies and the mad drive of privatization by Central Government and the challenges before employees and workers like revival of Old Pension scheme, wage and regularization Policy for all temporary workers, filling up of all vacancies, restoration of full democratic trade union and labour rights, DPC of all cadres, settlement of left over SRO 59 cases, etc.
