JKAACL presents Duggar folk forms during World Heritage celebrations

JAMMU, Nov 22: As part of series of cultural programmes, being organized by the Department of Culture during weeklong World Heritage celebrations, the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today presented folk forms of Duggar culture at Bahu Fort.
The event was thronged by an overwhelming participation of people, especially tourists and students, who visited the affair to have a glimpse of rich culture of Dogras besides the things of monumental and historical significance.
Former Director Tourism, S M Sawhney, was the chief guest on the occasion.
Nodal officers of weeklong World Heritage celebrations, Deputy Director, Archives, Jammu and Sardar Inder Singh, Chairman, Himalayan Heritage Museum, Jammu were also present on the occasion.
Dhani Ram and party presented “Chhajja and Dandaras dance” while Mohan Lal Mistri and party of Udhampur, presented “Haran and Geetru dance”.
Folk forms like “Fumnian” would be the main attractions for tomorrow celebration at the same venue.
Meanwhile, rare manuscripts and historical documents were on display in the exhibition, organized by the Department of Archives, Archeology and Museum department.
