JKAACL in collaboration with NDS presents ‘Swaranjali’

JAMMU, June 6: Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, in collaboration with Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS), organised a Dogri musical evening `Swaranjali’.
Sanvi Gupta and Agrima Gupta, both the budding singers, mesmerised the audience with their versatile voice and surging skills. Advocate Nidhi Kaila also performed while Vishal Gupta sang the song penned by Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila.  Poonam Mahajan engrrossed the audience in her versatile style of singing.
In second phase, the renowned music personality of the State Suraj Singh sprinkled various musical colours and made the programme a colourful event. The music was composed by Suraj Singh and Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila. The lyricists were Yash Pal ‘Yash’, Krishan Lal Mast, Sanjay Vidrohi, Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila and Capt Lalit Sharma.
Vijay Anand on Dholak, Joginder Pal on Tabla, Sanjay Pashi on Guitar and Krishan Kumar Johny on Synth provided wonderful rhythm and support.
K  K Shakir presided over the function whereas Prof S P Chopra was chief guest on the occasion. Om Shastri, a Sanskrit scholar from Himachal Pradesh and Sachin Gupta, CEO, Om Palace Jammu, were the guests of honour. Suresh Poonchi, well known singer and Krishan Lal Mast, renowned Dogri writer and journalist, were the special guests.
Capt Lalit Sharma, Convener NDS,   in his opening remarks, said that music is a pious medium to attain the God.
Prof S P Chopra said that NDS has the distinction to provide platform to the budding writers and artists.
K  K Shakir and Sachin Gupta also spoke on the occasion. Suresh Poonchi said that this programme touched the soul and mind of the audience. Om Shastri presented Sanskrit version of two film songs in his melodious voice in the original tunes of these songs.
Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila reiterated to maintain continuity to present quality programmes by NDS.
Yash Pal compered the proceedings and also presented vote of thanks.
