JAMMU, June 6: Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary and former minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today alleged that Modi led BJP Government is running on hollow slogans and falsehood and it stood totally exposed within its four years of existence.
Addressing media-persons here today, PCC leader and former MLA from Billawar, Dr Sharma alleged that people of the country are feeling cheated by the Prime Minister Narender Modi and other BJP leaders. Their took U-turn on every issue duped the people by showing them `green pastures’. This Government imposed heavy taxes on the people, rate of petrol-diesel and LPG has gone all time high despite reduction in the price of crude oil in the international market.
Dr Sharma strongly lamented the BJP Govt and enlisted failures of the regime. He said that not even a single promise made by BJP during elections seen its way to completion. Be it slogans of Smart City, Digital India, Made in India or number of other hyped projects. All fell face down in the last 4 years of BJP rule in India.
Referring to the five Medical Colleges and two Cancer Institutes sanctioned by the then Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for J&K, Dr Sharma said that their fate is still uncertain. Not only this, the fate of AIIMS in Jammu is no where in sight. The BJP ministers and the Legislators to whom people from Jammu gave massive mandate, are maintaining criminal silence over these issues and they are concerned only for their own welfare. There is shortage of doctors in hospitals and health care in rural and sub-urban areas is pitiable.
The people are facing acute shortage of water while power crisis has made life of the people hell. The projects started during the previous NC-Congress regime have either been suspended or left on the mercy of God. The educated youth of Jammu are feeling cheated. They are facing worst kind of discrimination at the hands of BJP leadership as they are hand in glove with the Valley based PDP.
He also demanded inquiry into defence land case of BJP leaders Dr Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta at Nagrota besides CBI probe into Rassana case.
On ceasefire violation, terrorism, PCC leader said that in comparison to 2016 there occurred 230 % increase in ceasefire violation in 2017. The current status of borders is not hidden from the nation there occurs daily loss of men and property along the borders. During the tenure of BJP the ceasefire violation has increased 500% comparative to previous regimes. National security under BJP is just limited to slogans . The border situation is grim. There is no plan for emergency evacuation, medical staff and refugee shelters , transport etc in shelling prone areas.
Dr Sharma said that corruption has reached alarming position under BJP rule. There occurs loss of nearly Rs 54318 crores to the nation in scams involving Vijay Maliya, Neerav Modi, Rotomac etc. He said anti- farmer and anti-employee and anti -youth policy of BJP has ruined the country.
