JAMMU, June 28: Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department of the J&K Grameen Bank, in collaboration with NABARD, organized Digital-Financial Literacy Awareness Programme in village Ratnal (unbanked area) under the branch office Sarore, Kheri and Kanhal.
The programme was organized on the occasion of a deity function at Dati Todi temple, situated in the village Ratnal
Janak Raj Angural, Chairman J&K Grameen Bank, was the chief guest on the occasion and he informed the participants regarding various modes of getting cashless transactions from banks, various safeguards to be kept in mind in order to be aware and prevent cases of cheating/corruption while availing different banking facilities with special reference to use of ATM cards, mobile banking etc. He impressed upon the participants not to use any middle man from availing any benefit from the bank and approach the bank branch directly. He laid emphasis on adoption of social security schemes launched by GoI on war footing; that shall ameliorate the lot of unorganised sector that remain deprived from such facilities. He also highlighted that the bank is conducting “Mega Loan Settlement Campaign Week” w.e.f. 25th June 2018 to 30th June 2018 throughout the bank across the State.
Vipan Gupta, Senior Manager MF&FI Department J&K Grameen Bank, enlightened people about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of bank cheques, use of PoS machine, Rupay debit card, KCC Rupay debit card, net banking, mobile banking services, IMPS, Aadhaar based transactions etc. He also made them aware about the merits and demerits of using such services and precautions to be taken care of while utilizing such facilities. He advised people not to get trapped in fake calls, which is very common trend used by some fraudulent person’s active in the market.
K.L. Sharma, Regional Manager, Jammu, J&K Grameen Bank, gave details regarding social security schemes APY, PMJJBY & PMSBY. The pamphlets having information regarding the various deposits, loans and IT products were also distributed among the masses.
Besides the huge gathering, Sarpanchs, Panchs, women of the area and other dignitaries of the villages were also present on the occasion.
