JK Bank opens Business Unit

SRINAGAR, July 8: Jammu and Kashmir Bank opened its 691st Business Unit at Loolipora in Chadoora here today.
Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather, inaugurated the Business Unit of the Bank in the presence of Bank’s Executive president, Abdul Hamid Banday and Cluster Head Mohammad Ayoub Wanchoo.
Loan sanctioning letters were also distributed among the beneficiaries on the occasion.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by a large gathering comprising of senior citizens, traders, fruit growers, teachers, students, women and other local residents.
“JK Bank has brought commerce, comfort and respect to the people of State. Through its growing network of business units (branches) it has generated enormous economic activity across the State serving both haves and have-nots of the society. The Bank makes all of us feel proud”, the Minister said in his address.
Urging the audience to co-operate with the Bank people, he added, “those who serve people deserve our utmost respect and J&K Bank is serving the people with a deep sense of belonging”.
Earlier, Banday said, “with Loolipora, the total number of Bank’s business units has reached 691. We plan to take the number to 800 during this year.”
Informing the audience about Bank’s achievements in district Budgam, he said, “During the last three years 20 new business units have been established in the district. The CD Ratio in the district is 52 percent as against around 40% in the State.
