JCCI, KCCI to observe total shut down against Budget

JAMMU, June 1: Chamber of  Commerce and Industry Jammu and  Kashmir Chamber have unanimously decided to observe total shut down on June 4 in the State against anti-trade budget presented by the Government.
An urgent meeting of all the  Trade and Industrial Associations was held at Chamber House today under the Chairmanship of  Rakesh Gupta, president Chamber of Commerce & Industry which was represented by the respective presidents and general secretaries to decide the future course of action against the anti-trade and anti-poor  budget presented by the Finance Minister.
It was unanimously decided first to assemble at Chamber House  on June 2 ( Thursday) at 10 am and march towards the Commercial Taxes building at Rail Head Complex Jammu to protest against the  rampant corruption being encouraged by the department.
An important decision was taken by both the Chambers of Jammu and Kashmir to protest and agitate against the budget and demanding total roll back to make it clear to the Government that no additional VAT / Toll tax will be allowed to be imposed.
It was decided by both the Chambers of Jammu and Kashmir that Jammu and Kashmir provinces would observe total shut down on June 4, and if the Government does not roll back the hike on VAT / Toll tax on permanent basis,  same may turn in indefinite shut down/ strike.
The Chamber extended gratitude to some political parties for raising the issue for this illogical hike in VAT and Toll tax especially the National Conference and even  BJP who inspite of being part of the collation Government supported the cause.
Senior members  Sham Lal Langer, Deepak Aggarwal and Ashu Gupta were also present.
Master Service Operators (MSO) of cable network leader Rajinder Arora has also announced full support to the bandh call. Arora said they will also shut cable network for sometime on June 4. He said MSO will strongly oppose imposition of Rs 50 tax per connection.
