Leh, July 10: An Army soldier lost his life and two others were injured when barrel of 81 mm mortar burst during field firing exercise at Mangal Thang near here last evening.
The killed Army soldier has been identified as sepoy Gurpreet Singh. One of the injured Lance Naik Manroop Singh has been admitted in the hospital.
The dead and injured belonged to an Infantry Unit deployed in Ladakh.
Army has ordered a court of inquiry into the incident.
