POONCH, Oct 3: An Army soldier was critically injured in a land mine explosion near the LoC in Sawjian area of Mandi in district Poonch today.
Official sources said that incident took place when Sepoy Sandeep Kumar of 40 RR was on routine patrol along with some other jawans near Mukhiyari Dhok in Sawjian area at around 7.30 am today. As he over stepped a mine, it got exploded causing serious injuries to his one foot and leg. The other jawans had narrow escape in the mishap. The injured jawan was rushed to Mandi hospital and then Army hospital Poonch where doctors provided preliminary treatment. Then he was airlifted to Command Hospital, Udhampur. His foot has been blown up in the powerful explosion.
