JAMMU, May 28: Janipur police nabbed a chain snatcher near Patoli area here today.
As per police sources, a person identified as Sahil Gupta, son of Ashok Gupta of Channi Himmat riding on a scooty snatched the gold chain of a lady near Patoli.
The woman raised hue and cry and when people reached the spot, the accused managed to escape.
Acting swiftly, the police cops from Janipur police station chased and arrested the accused near some distance.
A case under FIR number 113/15 has been registered at police station Janipur and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Janipur police station Inspector Ajit Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Sandeep Choudhary, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
