JAMMU, May 29: The Jammu region has seen no development in last two years of PDP-BJP rule. Moreover, youth are wandering unemployed and employees are not getting salary.
This was expressed by Sunil Dimple, president of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) while addressing a press conference here today.
Dimple alleged that the State as a whole only witnessed terrorism and differences between PDP, BJP ideologies while the Jammu region suffered heavy loss where no development took place since the formation of BJP-PDP Government.
He said no development took place and all important projects of the West Assembly Constituency are lying unattended after the formation of the BJP-PDP Govt in the last two years.
All the important projects of Jammu region whether it is Jammu AIIMS, Smart city, artificial lake project, the Chenab water supply scheme, construction of the Rehari Chungi- Jewal Chowk flyover, ring roads are lying unattended.
He further alleged that in the construction work of the Vikram Chowk flyover, a large bungling has taken place. He demanded the CBI, vigilance department and crime branch inquiry into the misappropriation of funds in the construction of the Flyover.
Stating that the Jammu West Assembly Constituency has become the dirtiest and backward constituency of the State, he demanded the State Government to either grant district status to this constituency or bifurcate it into two assembly constituencies as this is the largest constituency of the State and no development is taking place in the constituency.
Dimple demanded Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to grant District status to the Jammu West Assembly Constituency or bifurcate it into two assembly constituencies if her Government wants to deliver good governance to the people of the Jammu city and West Assembly Constituency.
He also urged the CM to constitute and implement the delimitation commission in the State to stop the discrimination with the Jammu region.
