Jain reviews functioning of Revenue Deptt

UDHAMPUR, Mar 27: Financial Commissioner, Revenue, Pramod Kumar Jain reviewed the functioning of Revenue Offices, Courts, Field Establishment and human resource management in Revenue Department during a series of meetings convened at Udhampur.
The Financial Commissioner reviewed the status of court cases in various Revenue Courts, Attestation of Mutations, Jamabandis, services under Public Service Guarantee Act, implementation of RTI Act, progress in Land Acquisition, status of staff in various offices, optimum utilisation of resources, regular revenue meetings, touring, tour diaries of officers / officials and other aspects of Land Revenue Administration.
Mr Jain asked for regular field touring by all Revenue Officers, submission of tour dairies, availability of revenue officers in field and in patwar halqas. . He set a target of 122 Jamabadis and 1600 mutations to be attested by Revenue Officers at various levels. He appreciated fast progress in land acquisition with 232 final awards issued out of 264 cases and also complimented the Deputy Commissioner for having established a mechanism of availability of Patwaris in field and prompt relief disbursement.
Financial Commissioner, further, stressed for improvement in land records and frequent inspections of village records. He directed that every Tehsildar shall inspect one Revenue Village each in a week, similarly 2 Villages will be inspected every month by ACR and SDMs under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner who will inspect one village in every two months. He called for reconstruction of record in a professional way wherever required.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary made a presentation regarding functioning of Revenue Department in the district.
The Financial Commissioner also convened a meeting with more than 490 Lumberdars and Chowkidars of 390 Villages and impressed upon them to perform their duties efficiently and be eyes and ears of Government. He also outlined that Lumberdars and Chowkidars will get regular salary and uniform grant.
