JAMMU, May 9: The inmates of Jagti camp have expressed grave concern against the failure of the State Government to regulate the power supply in the camp.
The camp inmates while taking serious exception to highhandedness of PDD authorities said that they will resort to agitation in case the power issue was not settled within week’s time.
The camp is facing 18 hour power cut in 24 hours which has added to the miseries of the people said Sahdi Lal Pandita president JTC. He warned in case the problem was not settled the camp inmates will be forced to proceed to Union Capital and resort to dharna in front of Parliament.
By resorting to 24 hour power cut is totally inhuman in such scorching days of Summer, said Desh Rattan president AMCCC. He said the Government is totally callous towards the camp inmates as it is supposed to provide all amenities to migrants who were forced to leave Kashmir due to its follies.
We are left with no alternative but to launch agitation said Vinod Tickoo, convener United Council Jagti. He said the condition of old, infirm and children is miserable. Besides, the students are unable to read due to total blackout in the camp.
He accused the Government of backtracking from the promises made with camp inmates so far.
