Sir,
It is quite dismaying to note that the State Government has not taken much interest in providing Aadhar cards to the citizens of this State while other State Governments have geared the Government machinery to make this 12-digit unique number card available to their State Subjects. At a time when Government of India has launched Direct Benefit Transfer or DBT scheme to provide succour to people in India, the non availability of the card will deprive them of the benefits.
There are other benefits as well which one can avail while using Aadhar cards. It will become the single source of identity verification. Residents would be spared the hassle of repeatedly providing supporting identity documents each time they wish to access services such as obtaining a bank account, passport, driving license so on.
Though the scheme was launched in the State with much fanfare, one does not what happened to it later on and got derailed for the time being. We hope the Government would look into the matter and start issuing these cards to people.
Yours etc…
