JAMMU, Aug 31: Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), J&K Regional Branch organized a training programme on Management Competencies here today.
It was inaugurated by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu and attended by 56 officers from various departments including Police and Civil Administration besides J&K Bank and SMVDSB.
While speaking on the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner emphasized that during the delivery of public service the active cooperation of public at large must be ensured for the desired results. He exhorted the young officers that when ever in doubt while decision making, think of the common man. He further laid stress on improving the management competencies by balancing the personal, professional and social life to become an effective tool in the delivery of public service.
Earlier, Chairman IIPA, J&K Regional Branch Dr Ashok Bhan welcomed the chief guest, faculty and participants and impressed upon the significance of this programme in bringing the practitioners and academicians at a common platform. He impressed upon the participants that while maintaining discipline in public life, the officers must try to think out of the box solutions in order to encourage initiative in the subordinate team members.
The resource persons for this programme were from the Business School, University of Jammu. They included Prof Alka Sharma, Dr Anil Gupta and Dr Komal Nagar.
