JAMMU, Dec 6: A very healthy practice of Investiture Ceremony was organized in Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar to continue the tradition of delegating responsibility to the students in a formal ceremony and giving them ample opportunities for grooming and polishing their skills during their stay in the college for three consecutive years.
On the occasion, a charter of duties and responsibilities of an ideal student were read out to make everybody aware of their respective responsibilities towards institution.
Swati Verma was elected as president, while as Sanam Sharief Khan as vice president, Sonia Chaudhary as general secretary, Jasmeet Kaur as joint secretary, Ruqaiya Qazi as tresurer, Avneet Kaur as Volunteer head.
The outgoing vice president of the College Arushi Balloria handed over the torch to the present President.
All the students of the College participated in the oath taking ceremony and pledged to work for the smooth conduct of the events in the College.
Dr Kiran Bakshi, Principal of the College exhorted the students to bring in synergy and work with the zeal and zest for the welfare of the college so that the college emerges as the forerunner in all the endeavours and ventures.
