UDHAMPUR, July 26: Bharatiya Janata Party Udhampur Mandal today organized a public meeting for highlighting insanitary conditions in the town, particularly during the rainy season.
The meeting was organized by BJP Udhampur Mandal president Raj Kumar Buccha while senior BJP leader Pawan Gupta was the special invitee.
The two BJP leaders feared spread of epidemic like situation in Udhampur town due to dumps of solid waste and garbage in open here and there. Despite repeated requests to the concerned authorities in this regard, no action was taken for cleanliness of the town, they lamented.
Pawan Gupta said it was unfortunate that Udhampur Municipal Council was not being re-organized despite expansion of the town. He stressed that the Government should regularize the Safai Karamcharis against the available vacant posts and more temporary Safai Karamcharis may be engaged for better sanitation in the town.
The meeting was also addressed by Jugal Kishore, Rajesh Pachiala, Vijay Sharma, Darshan Abrol, Sumer Khajuria, Ashok Dogra, Anil Arora, Ashok Jagrota, Surinder Arora, Ashok Moti, Raju Chandel and Sorbh Kumar.
