Indian Oil, ITC bag top honours at PRSI National Awards

NEW DELHI, Dec 28: Indian Oil Corporation and ITC Limited bagged top honours in five and four award categories respectively, to dominate the winner’s circle at the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) National Awards.
The function concluded here and coincided with the inaugural day of the three-day 35th All India Public Relations Conference, an annual event held by PRSI.
The theme for this year’s conference is, ‘Inclusive Growth through Corporate Social Responsibility-Role of Public Relations’.
This year the award categories were expanded to 20, up from 13 last year. More than 30 organizations from all over the country sent entries for the awards and a distinguished jury comprising of members from all walks of life and headed by the former Governor of Karnataka, TN Chaturvedi, was set up to pick the winners.
OP Rawat, Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), Government of India, was chief guest, who while speaking said unless there is communication and transparency, maintaining law and order will become impossible.
Dr VP Mishra, Pro-Chancellor, Dutta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Wardha, was guest of honour, who said PR professionals should undertake this campaign with a sense of patriotism and national duty.
Dr Ajit Pathak, National President, PRSI, said that they will continue to work for more empowerment of the PR profession.
Indian Oil and ITC won a total of 12 and 5 awards respectively.
Among some of Indian Oil’s prominent wins were the ones for the best Corporate Film bagged by their Marketing division of the Eastern Region and the one for Special/Prestige publication won by their Gujrat Refinery.
ITC bagged award for the best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign for the second year running, apart from winning the best environmental campaign among others.
Other prominent winners included National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) which won a total of three awards, including one top finish and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited which emerged on top in two categories.
