UDHAMPUR, May 5: Ahead of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti, an impressive Shobha Yatra was taken out here today with religious fervour and gaiety.
A large number of people, including women, children and prominent citizens also took part in the Shobha Yatra, which was organized by district unit of Yuva Parshuram Dal Udhampur.
A Gatkha party from Punjab showed its skills of martial art while a metal statue of Bhagwan Parshuram was the main attraction for the devotees.
Revered Saint Swami Subash Shastri Ji led the Shobha Yatra, which began from Kargil Hanuman Mandir Udhampur and passed through Domail, Dhar Road, State Bank of India, Slathia Chowk, Court Road, Ramnagar Chowk, Hospital Road, Talab Sallian, Chabutra, Main Bazar, Goal Market, Dabber Chowk before culminating at Bhagwan Parshuram Mandir Devika Sathan Udhampur.
At Bhagwan Parshuram Mandir premises, Swami Subhash Shastri delivered the spiritual sermons and threw light on the life history of Bhagwan Parshuram. He asked the people to celebrate Parshuram Jayanti with religious fervor and enthusiasm.
Those who played significant role in organizing the Shobha Yatra, included Bharti Sharma, V B Raina, Mohit Khajuria, Inder Batra, Advocate Yog Raj, Sanjay Sharma, Makhan Singh, Ramnik Sharma, Vipan Sharma and Rakesh Khajuria.
