POONCH, Sept 14: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Nisar Ahmed Wani along with Executive Engineer of R&B, Mushtaq Raina today visited the damaged Foot Jhula Bridge (FJB) site at Dalhan area near LoC after a deputation from Dalhan and adjoining villages called on him with a demand of immediate restoration of damaged bridge.
The bridge was damaged due to the flash floods that wreaked havoc in the area in March 2015. The damage to lone connecting link in the area posed hardships to the villagers living near LoC.
Wani after visiting the spot instructed the XEn R&B for carrying out the restoration work on war footing.
The XEn informed that contract for restoration of the bridge has been allotted and work is expected to start within few days.
Later, the DDC directed the Superintendent Engineer and XEn Irrigation and Flood Control for taking up necessary diversion work near the FJB.
